Walker Inn Website Revamp
Client: Walker Inn
This website was a long time in production. The design was re-overhauled at least twice in its genesis, and I'll be the first to admit that I was probably a little too focused on getting everything just right than I ought to be in order to stay in business! But it was for my mum’s inn, and hey, that’s my inheritance, right?
walkerinn.com pre-redesign
The “before” site has got to be one of the finest examples of a poorly done site I have taken out back and shot. Its design was a generic template, it was riddled with errors, and it didn’t even have a clearly labeled “contact us” link anywhere.
walkerinn.com redesigned
We revamped both the content and its appearance, making major changes everywhere. Very little was spared! Of course, the whole thing made use of an easy-to-use administration panel so the site contents could be edited at a later date with minimal fuss.
I wanted the appearance of the site to reflect the feeling of the interior of the inn—a little old world, a little eclectic, very textured and well-put-together. The site uses a faux photograph frame around all of its images (which was quite a technical challenge!) to emphasize their content, which is really the inn’s strongest selling point.
