Concept-oriented branding for an offshore drilling company

  • problem An offshore drilling company, COPAN wanted a logo that would represent their Nova Scotian/South Shore roots while expressing the concept of “safety”.
  • solution

I came up with an oil derrick/lighthouse hybrid. The lighthouse element serves a dual purpose in terms of promoting safety (“Hey! Look out for the big pointy rocks down here!”) and in representing the South Shore (which boasts about six million lighthouses per capita).

Thanks again for the great job on the logo. —Scott Wilkie
